Yoga Student Guidelines

  • Please come into class and either lie down and relax or meditate until the class starts.
  • Please don't bring your mobile phone into class.
  • Please do not talk in class any questions you may have I am happy to answer them before or after class. This is to keep the bhav(the spiritual mood of the class) and to let others be in their own space.
  • Try to arrive a few minutes early if you can. If you do arrive late, please come in, but take a few deep breaths, unravel your mat outside, and avoid noisy keys and other distractions for those already in practice.
  • Please do not wear perfume to class, people with allergies may be sensitive to it.
  • Practice on an empty stomach if possible. It is recommended that you do not eat 2 hours prior to your practice.If a medical condition prevents this then some fruit or a handful of skinned soaked almonds are more easily digested.
  • Be kind and loving to yourself by accepting yourself where you are. Rest when you need to, do what feels right for you in each moment.
  • Abandon the competitive mindset. Yoga is not competitive. It is a spiritual practice that makes the body stronger, more flexible and healthier. The aim is to calm the mind, open the heart and accelerate our spiritual evolution.
